2020-21 Online Challenges

Yes! We have been hard at work on 2020-21 Online Challenges. Take a glimpse at just a few projects we would like to spotlight.

Art is one of our hidden talents. Take a look at the time-lapse of a drawing of one of our teammates on team 74177U who wished to remain anonymous. She drew this for one of the online challenges. Amazing talent, right?

2020-21 Rise Above Season

The Game

VEX IQ Challenge Rise Above is played on a 6' x 8'  rectangular field, as shown below. Two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenges as an alliance in 60-second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points.

Teams also compete in the Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver-controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.

The Details

The scoring objects in VEX IQ Challenge Rise Above are 8.7" (22.1 cm) tall Risers. There are a total of 27 Risers on the field. The object of the game is to score as many points as possible with your alliance partner by scoring Risers in Goals, completing Rows, and completing Stacks.
